About EEFTN
European equine facilitated therapy network (EEFTN) is a group of equine facilitated therapy associations and practitioners from all over Europe to bring them together to get an agreement over the terminology, work on recognition of hippotherapy, share and exchange of best practice and education models. EEFTN connects therapists on the international level. However, it promotes national associations and the cooperation of practitioners within their countries.

HETI supports EEFTN in establishing connection, communication and collaboration between organisations and people in European equine facilitated therapy community.

First annual EEFTN meeting took place in April 2019 in Prague. Therapists of different professions from Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Greece, Russia, Malta, Finland, United Kingdom, Norway, Ireland, Poland, Latvia and Lithuania came together as well as association representatives, Sanna Mattila-Rautainen, President of HETI and Anton Saratov, Board member of HETI.
Who can attend?
  • Representatives of a European National Equine Facilitated Associations.
  • Maximum of 4 participants from each country.
  • Professions: Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists as well as associations representatives.

  • In the case of no existing association, a single participant can join the network on behalf of her/his country with the knowledge about education, policy and procedures in EFT, etc.

  • Overseas guests are welcome to join our fruitful discussion and inspire us with their expertise.

  • Participation fee of 120 € will be charged. Workshop is included.
  • HETI active members will have a 25% discount (covered by organizers).
  • Travel expenses are covered by participants.

Starting 2020 for many European countries it is possible to get a short-stay electronic visa for visiting Saint-Petersburg area without formal invitation and personal appointment in the embassy. Check the requirements and application procedure for E-Visa by the link below.

Note that the you have to cross the border in Saint-Petersburg (Pulkovo airport).


Please check that your name in the application form for e-viza is exactly the same as in the machine-readable zone at the bottom of identity page of your passport.
If electronic visa is not applicable to your country, you plan to travel through Moscow or stay in Russia after the meeting, you need to get a standard visa. The invitation will be required to apply, please contact the organizers. Application procedure is described by the link below.
